In 1953 the iconic Gucci men’s loafer with metal horsebits was created, and still stands as one of the company’s most popular and recognizable designs. Variations of the horsebit can be found on today’s designs for both men’s and women’s shoes. As styles change over the years, the love for this timeless symbol has remained the same.
Rago Brothers has been repairing and restoring Gucci shoes for decades. Our cobblers are able to replace soles and heels with leather or rubber. We can also add collars and counters to the interior heel area, repair miscellaneous stitching, clean and refinish leather, de-salt leather, repair rips, replace insoles, and repair damage from dog bites, among other shoe repairs.
While we are unable to provide Gucci branded replacement parts, we are often able to repair or reuse the original hardware. In the event that we cannot reuse your original hardware, we will work with you to source a generic replacement.
